The ScaleBlaster SB-175 was engineered for those living in areas with extremely hard water. Designed by special request for hard water areas ranging from 14-25 gpg (240-427 ppm), it also works well for very large houses with multiple floors and bathrooms.
The unit is in a larger enclosure, but contains the same features as found in the SB-150. It has a 10 year warranty and works on either 115VAC or 230VAC automatically. The maximum pipe size the unit will work on is 1 1/2" pipe - copper/pvc/pex.

(Radio Shack part # 270-1066) - Descaling Method: The control box supplies a square wave signal to a coil of wire that is wrapped around the pipe. The signal is changed anywhere from 1,000 to 20,000 times a second, producing a modulating frequency waveform that hits the resonant frequency of the calcium molecules causing them to lose it's adhesiveness.
